If you told me a year ago I’d be a triathlete, I wouldn’t have believed you.
Coming into my first 70.3 as a rookie with Team Megawide, the odds felt stacked. I had less than a year of proper swim training, and as a cyclist at heart, I was still just getting used to the tri-bike. My biggest hurdle was fitting training into week-long international business travels twice a month. It was a constant juggle, but I stayed the course.
Crossing that finish line in Davao is a feeling I can’t explain. All the physical pain simply vanished. It felt like a dream — one I’m already eager to experience again. This race has lit a fire in me for what’s next.
